Day 1 Depart U.S.A for Moscow, Russia
Day 2 Arrive Moscow, Russia (D)
Arrive in Moscow and embark the ship. Relax in your stateroom or explore the city before meeting your fellow focus travelers at the Welcome Cocktail Reception.
Day 3 Moscow (B,L,D)
After breakfast, we visit Russia's beautiful capital city, founded in 1147, which includes the Red Square, the GUM Department Store, St. Basil Cathedral, Tverskaya, Sparrow Hill and Lubyanka Square (KGB building). After your city tour, enjoy lunch on a day boat as you cruise the Moscow River. Late this afternoon, we will also visit the Tretyakov Art Museum. Tonight, you can enjoy an optional visit to the Moscow Circus.
Day 4 Moscow (B,L,D)
Today, your our within the walls of the Kremlin introduces us to the former royal residence of the Czars and main center of the Russian Orthodox faith. We will also visit Russia’s oldest museum, the Armory, which houses the former royal collection of treasures. Later, we tour the Moscow metro and visit the famous Arbat Street.
Day 5 Uglich (B,L,D)
Early this morning our boat arrives in Uglich.Located on the banks of the Volga, Uglich was founded by merchants in 1148. Rich in history, Uglich is home to some of Russia’s most beautiful churches and cathedrals, and you’ll see a sampling during your city tour. The most noteworthy include the Chambers of Prince Dimitry and the magnificent Church of Dimitry on the Blood, dedicated to the tragic story of Ivan the Terrible's son. We will visit the home of a local Russian family, learning about everyday life in Uglich, as you enjoy a home-cooked meal and sample Russian hospitality first-hand.
Day 6 Yaroslavl (B,L,D)
Founded in 1010 by Prince Yaroslav the Wise, it is one of Russia's oldest cities, tracing its roots back to the Vikings. The city stretches for miles along the confluence of the Volga and Kotorosl Rivers. Explore the city’s history through its architecture, including the fortified 12th-century Transfiguration Monastery and the Yaroslavl Museum of Russian Art, the former residence of the Governor of Yaroslavl.
Day 7 Goritsy (B,L,D)
Goritsy is a peaceful farming town and a typical Russian village. Our tour includes the Monastery of St. Cyril on the White Lake and the Museum of Icons. Return to the ship to sail for Kizhi.
Day 8 Kizhi (B,L,D)
Kizhi is an island that is situated at the north end of Lake Onega and home to some of the most amazing wooden architecture in Russia. Forever linked to Novgorod the Great, the style of architecture reflects its early introduction to Christianity. In 1764 locals built the Church of Intercession, its towering walls and 22 domes, without the use of a single nail. Our walking tour includes the Museum of Wooden Architecture.
Day 9 Svirstroy (B,L,D)
Svirstroy is 100 miles from St. Petersburg with a population of only 1,000. Enjoy some free time to stroll through this unspoiled Russian village and browse for irresistible handmade trinkets. This is the best place to do souvenir shopping before reaching St. Petersburg.
Day 10 St. Petersburg (B,L,D)
One of Russia's former capitals, this city rivals Paris or Venice for its romantic image. Dating from the beginning of the 18th-century it was built to the exact specifications ordered by Peter the Great. The city is home to many museums, galleries, palaces, impressive squares and streets. Our sightseeing tour of this beautiful city shows you Nevsky Prospect, Palace Square, St. Isaacs Cathedral and the cruiser Aurora. After lunch in a local restaurant in St.Petersburg, we tour the Hermitage museum, the former Palace of the Czars, which houses the royal art collection with over three million works of art. It is one of the largest and most impressive art museums in the world. Tonight, we join our fellow FTC travelers for an included folkloric show.
Day 11 St. Petersburg (B,L,D)
This morning, stroll along one of the many picturesque canals or join the optional excursion to Pushkin and visit the Palace of Catherine the Great. This evening, we will attend a Ballet performance at the Hermitage Theatre, the former private theatre of the Czars.
Day 12 St. Petersburg (B,L,D)
Today, we tour St. Petersburg's famous and spectacular Imperial Estate – Peterhof Palace. Nestled on the shore of the Gulf of Finland, the palace was built by Peter the Great initially as a resting place en route to the Imperial naval base. But the Czar was quick to recognize the attractiveness of the area and masterminded a vast estate intended to rival the famous gardens of Versailles. We will enjoy a hydrofoil journey either to or from the Palace. After lunch, we enjoy the remainder of the day at our leisure.
Day 13 St. Petersburg (B)
After breakfast disembark the river boat and transfer to the airport for your flight home.

Day 13 St. Petersburg – Narva - Tallinn (B,L)
After Breakfast we will disembark our river boat and meet our tour escort. A morning drive will take us to the small border town of Narva. As we approach the town, we can see “High Herman” the tower of the Narva Castle. The fortress was founded by the Danes who controlled the southern shore of the Gulf of Finland. In the 13th century the Danes took control of Tallinn and then conquered all the way up to the Narova River and built about 15 castles. Here we will stop for a brief tour and lunch. After lunch we continue to Tallinn, Estonia. Since its re-emergence as an independent nation in the early nineteen nineties, Estonia has come along in leaps and bounds. Nowhere else is the regeneration more apparent than in the glorious capital city of Tallinn. Since 1997 when the City was placed in the UNESCO World Heritage List it has gone to great lengths to restore much of its former glory, with many of the principal attractions and monuments having a total make over. Today the fascinating medieval Old Town is amongst the best preserved of its kind in Europe.
Day 14 Tallinn (B,D)
After breakfast we will begin our city tour of Tallinn. Among other attractions, it includes a visit of Catherine’s Valley Park and Palace, the Song Festival Amphitheatre, the venue of 120-years old song festival tradition. You’ll see Tallinn's number one attraction: Toompea Hill and the Parliament building, Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, Tall Hermann, Kiek in de Kok and Dome Cathedral. The tour ends in Town Hall Square with a view of the Town Hall, a Gothic masterpiece of the 13th - 14th centuries. The tour will end at our hotel. This evening we will meet and walk to a local restaurant for dinner.
Day 15 Tallinn - Helsinki (B)
After Breakfast we transfer to the pier for our short cruise across to Helsinki. Upon arrival we will begin our included city tour. Helsinki, nicknamed the "Daughter of the Baltic". The sights include the Neo-Classical Senate Square, the colorful Market Square at the edge of the Baltic, the Sibelius Memorial, the University, the Lutheran Cathedral from the 1840's. We will visit the Temppeliaukio Rock Church which is carved out of solid rock and topped with a copper dome. The afternoon will be at leisure to explore the city on our own some more. Later this afternoon we are transferred back to Tallinn on the high speed ferry and whisked away back to our hotel.
Day 16 Tallinn – Parnu - Riga (B,L)
This morning after our included breakfast we depart Tallinn for Riga, Latvia. We drive to Riga via the sea side resort of Parnu. In Parnu, we will enjoy lunch in the Postpois restaurant and continue to Riga. En-route we make a stop at a local farm to meet the family and enjoy coffee and cake. In the late afternoon, we arrive in Riga.
Day 17 Riga (B)
After breakfast we will begin our half day walking tour of the Old Town of Riga featuring its most famous architectural monuments: 13th century St. Peter's Church, St. George's Church, St. John's Church, 14th century Riga Castle, Big and Small Guildhouses, medieval dwelling houses “Three Brothers” and the Dome Square with its famous Dome Cathedral boasting one of the biggest organs in Europe.
Day 18 Riga - Vilnius (B,D)
After our included breakfast we will depart Riga for Vilnius, Lithuania. We make a visit to the impressive Baroque Rundale Palace created by the Italian architect B. Rastrelli. The Rund?le Palace is one of the most outstanding monuments of Baroque and Rococo art in Latvia, built between 1736 and 1740 as a summer residence of the Duke of Courland Ernst Johann Biron. After our visit we will continue and make a stop at the Hill of Crosses, a unique place of national pilgrimage. The Hill of Crosses, Kry?i? Kalnas, is located 12 kilometers north of the small industrial city of Siauliai. Standing upon a small hill are many hundreds of thousands of crosses that represent Christian devotion and a memorial to Latvian national identity. After crossing the border of Latvia, we make a visit to the impressive Baroque Rundale Palace created by the Italian architect B. Rastrelli. The Rund?le Palace is one of the most outstanding monuments of Baroque and Rococo art in Latvia, built between 1736 and 1740 as a summer residence of the Duke of Courland Ernst Johann Biron. In the afternoon we arrive in Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania. Tonight we will gather for a nice dinner at a local restaurant.
Day 19 Vilnius (B,D)
This morning after breakfast we board our coach for a morning city tour of Vilnius. The capital of Lithuania, Vilnius, is also the country's largest and most beautiful city with a population of approximately 576,000. Vilnius was built at the confluence of the Neris and Vilnia rivers surrounded by picturesque wooded hills. First mentioned in historical documents in 1323, the city's subsequent history has been as turbulent as the nation's. Over many centuries it has been repeatedly plundered during wars, devastated by many fires and has suffered numerous occupations. Yet, the city has managed to retain its unique character as a northerly cultural meeting point at the crossroads of the Roman and the Byzantine and the European and the Eurasian worlds. Vilnius' Old Town, covering 255 hectares of the city, has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Our tour includes the Historical Old Town with Vilnius Cathedral and its square, the University campus, Pilies street with the 16th –18th century historical and architectural monuments, Gothic corner of Vilnius with St, Anne's and Bernardine Churches, the former Town Hall square, the Dawn Gate with a miraculous icon of Virgin Mary, the 17th century Baroque Church of St. Peter and Paul. After our tour the day is at leisure. Tonight we will have a fantastic farewell dinner to celebrate our adventure.
Day 20 Vilnius (B)
After our included breakfast transfer to the Airport for our flight home.
