Fernea, Elizabeth Warnock. Street in Marrakech: Excellent novel by an American woman who lived in Morocco in the 1970’s.Gives a good inside look at Moroccan life and society.

Bowles, Paul The Spider's House: Novel by an American who lived in Morocco for 40 years.

Hodgson, Barbara. The Tatooed map: A Novel

Smith, Richard. Baraka and Black Magic in Morocco

Taylor, D. The Fourth Queen

Non-Fiction:
Lonely Planet Morocco: Listed as by far the best guide to Morocco.  More detailed and accurate.  “If you have this one, you won’t need any other”.

Morocco: The Collected Traveler: An Inspired Anthology and Travel Resource:
“A wonderful read.  It’s an anthology of various kids of writings about Morocco by a variety of authors.  Helps you learn about the country and gets you in the mood for Morocco.”

Cuture Shock! Morocco: A Guide to Customs and Etiquette

Footprint Morocco Handbook: The Travel Guide: This is the most beautifully photographed of the guide books, but not as useful while in Morocco.
