Tour cost is based on a minimum of 15 participants. There will be a per person surcharge should these numbers not be reached.

OUR TOUR INCLUDES: Round trip airfare from Denver (economy class):
Motorcoach service in Louisiana; professional tour director;
six nights lodging; porterage of 1 piece of luggage per person at hotels where available;
breakfast daily and five dinners;
sightseeing and admissions per the itinerary;
gratuities for included meals and local step on guides.
 
OUR TOUR DOES NOT INCLUDE: Meals other than those specified in the itinerary; alcoholic beverages except beer and wine at New Orleans School of Cooking; gratuities for driver and professional tour director and items of a personal nature. Travel and trip interruption coverage is available separately at additional cost of $249 per person.
 
TRAVEL INSURANCE: Travel insurance through Travel Insured is available. The cost of the travel insurance $249.00 per person. For the coverage to begin, payment must first be received. Please enclose an additional $249.00 per person for coverage to begin upon receipt of application. Please also check the “YES” box on the registration page to indicate that you would like to add the insurance. Please note travel insurance is nonrefundable.

If you book your own airline reservations,
you must arrive prior to the time the group is scheduled to arrive from Denver, Colorado so that you can meet the motorcoach.
If your flight is delayed into New Orleans, you will be responsible for your own transportation from the airport to Lafayette, Louisiana.

DAY 1: Fly to New Orleans / Lafayette Louisiana (D) 
Today we meet at the airport and depart Denver for our flight to New Orleans where will begin our adventure. Upon arrival, we will meet our tour director and coach in New Orleans and begin our tour by driving to Lafayette, the heart of Cajun Country. Check into your hotel in Lafayette for two nights. We enjoy a welcome dinner tonight at the hotel. 



​DAY 2: Lafayette Full Day Sightseeing (B,D) 

​
We’ll begin our day with a visit to the JEAN LAFFITE ACADIAN CENTER. Here we will learn about the expulsion of the Acadians from eastern Canada in the 1750’s and their ultimate arrival in Louisiana. We’re then off to NEW IBERIA to visit the lovely RIP VAN WINKLE GARDENS and home of actor Joseph Jefferson. Jefferson, who became famous for his stage performances of Rip Van Winkle, built the home in the late 1800s as a southern retreat. The Gardens in the springtime are a sight to behold! It is now on the Register of Historic Places. Ever heard of TABASCO SAUCE? We will travel to AVERY ISLAND AND THE TABASCO MUSEUM to see how this world famous hot sauce is made. A very typical CAJUN EXPERIENCE awaits you at the MARTIN ACCORDION FACTORY. This unique and incredibly fun experience will enlighten you on how for over 30 years Martin Accordions has built all hand-made, single row, diatonic accordions for musicians around the world and you’ll enjoy some music by local artists. Tonight, a real Cajun dinner and entertainment at THE PONT BRIDGE.

Day 3: Baton Rouge Full Day Sightseeing (B, D)
have depended on this wild and primitive land for their survival in every sense of the word. This morning we enjoy an amazing swamp cruise from McGee’s Landing. Our Cajun Captain will point out the unique flora and fauna of the bayous that call the area home. From here we’ll travel to ST. MARTINSVILLE to visit the MYRTLES’ PLANTATION. This exquisite antebellum home was built in 1796. From there it’s on to the STATE CAPITAL OF BATON ROUGE. Stop and visit the 34-story state capitol building. We’ll will also see the MEMORIAL GARDENS dedicated to former governor and senator Hughie “Kingfish Long”. While here we’ll will also visit the Louisiana Museum before checking into your hotel for the night. Dinner this evening is at Ralph & Kacoo’s – a Baton Rouge Must.

Day 4: Baton Rouge - New Orleans Full Day of Sightseeing (B, D)
​Travel along the famed RIVER ROAD TO LAURA PLANTATION. This is an authentic Creole plantation. You will learn the difference between the Cajun and Creole cultures. It is also said that the charming Brier Rabbit stories originated here from slaves brought to the south from West Africa. Later you will see beautiful Oak Alley Plantation. Oak Alley is the iconic columned, southern plantation home, with its quarter mile drive lined by 28 live oaks. Continue to NEW ORLEANS and check into our centrally located hotel for three nights. Tonight, enjoy a very special dinner of Cajun seafood served up fresh at the world-famous Acme Oyster House in the French Quarter

Day 5: New Orleans (B)
Sights along the way include the French Quarter, Jackson Square, St. Louis Cathedral, the Cabildo, Pontabla Buildings, Café du Monde, the French Market, the Superdome, the above ground cemetery, the Garden District and more. Later we’ll tour MARDI GRAS WORLD. In a behind-the-scenes tour Mardi Gras World offers you a window into the Mardi Gras experience as we find out how the magnificent floats and props are prepared for the annual Mardi Gras parades.  The balance of the afternoon is free. Dinner is on our own this evening. 
 There will be an option one of the evenings in New Orleans to take in some jazz on your own. Your tour director will provide you with the information on jazz performances available and help coordinate transportation.

Day 6: New Orleans (B, D)
This morning visit the WORLD WAR II MUSEUM. The award winning Museum is located here in honor of Andrew  Higgins, creator of the Higgins landing craft and the WWII PT boats. It is the most comprehensive and fascinating WWII Museum you’ll ever see. Balance of the day is free to enjoy the wonders of the French Quarter. Tonight, we will enjoy a farewell dinner at the world famous Brennan’s. 

Day 7: New Orleans-Home (B)
​This morning we will transfer to the airport for our flight back to Denver.
