Looking back on 2016
Dear Ones,
The time-honored adage really is true! Time does go by more quickly with each passing year! 2016 has
certainly flown by for me, and here it is, time already to wish each of you a wondrous Christmas season
filled with joy, family and friends! I shared many travel adventures in 2016 with Focus travelers. Each
one was interesting and unusual and so much fun! I especially loved sharing them with Focus friends.
Focus’s 2016 travels began with a February tour of Iceland to see the Northern Lights. Group members
Agreed that Iceland proved to be a fascinating destination. In May Focus returned to Greece where we
Spent 17 glorious days exploring the back roads and hidden sights of several Greek Isles, not to mention
Athens! Next, in late July, a Focus group flew to Barcelona, Spain, for three days before boarding an
AmaWaterways River ship for an 8-day cruise of the Rhone River through Provence. What a wonderful
experience! On leaving the ship, we spent two days in a fantastic chateaux near Dijon and ended with 3
days in Paris! Wow! Then, in September a large Focus group traveled to California and enjoyed a
wonderful wine, rails and redwoods tour! Most of us drank more wine in 10 days than we had in the
entire year! Delicious!! Also addictive!
Focus’s 2017 Travel Adventures are already filling and are going to be stupendous! February 01 – 20
Twenty-four of us embark on Oceania’s Nautica for a cruise which will take us from Singapore to
Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam ending in Hong Kong! We can’t wait!! Next, comes a one-week tour
Of Louisiana in early April. The flowers will be in full regalia and we have some fascinating explorations
Planned! Also in April, a Focus group departs for a tour of Costa Rica! What an adventure this will be!
Think Arenal Volcano, gorgeous birds, Tortuguero National Park, Poas Volcano National Park, Carara
Biological Reserve, and never-to-be-forgotten incredible scenery! In June we have just added (by
popular request) a 9-day tour of Germany focusing on Martin Luther and the 500th anniversary of the
protestant reformation. Then! In September comes the long-awaited tour of Venice, Slovenia and
Croatia! WHAT a year!
We still have space available on several 2017 tours, have just begun filling others, and are waiting for
The Croatia itinerary to arrive! I hope those of you who are not already signed up for one or more
Will get in touch and join us!!
Our Annual Focus Blowout will take place on January 21, 2017. Please mark your calendars now!
Focus and Tumlare already have plans for 2018 in the works. All will be revealed at the January
Blowout. I hope many of you will be able to attend!
This time of year is always filled for me with wonderful memories of times shared with Focus friends and
I look forward to sharing many more with you in 2017! I hope all of you have a wonderful holiday
Season and that 2017 will be overflowing with prosperity, love, and, of course, Focus Travel Club tours!
Loves and Hugs,
Ellie
